Sensata Technologies, Inc. Area Sales Manager in United States
You will be part of the European Industrial commercial organization and report to the Segment Leader. In this key role within our Sales & Marketing team in Europe, you will be responsible for managing existing accounts and driving business development to achieve growth, profitability and market share objectives by prospecting new accounts, identifying the customer needs and delivering the solution. You will be working from a home office (in UK) or be in our local UK Business Center. What we expect from a suitable candidate:
Leads the direct sales process and achieving sales targets
Responsible for visits to current and potential clients
Leads the performing of routine account management activities
Submits short and long-range sales plans and prepares sales strategies utilizing available marketing programs to reach nominated targets
Ensures that clients receive high quality customer service
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree (i.e. Masters or Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 3-5 years of
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
You work closely with customers/prospects to identify applications and win new business opportunities.
You will coordinate with marketing and engineering colleagues the total supply chain.
You build and expand relationships with existing and potential customers and seek to “design in” the company’s current and future technology to customers’ future products.
You pro-actively communicate Sensata Technologies value proposition to the customer and manage customer expectations.
You give feedback of market requirements & competitor activities to the marketing department and product groups.
You are responsible for the commercial negotiations, technical communication with the customers and contract management.
A Bachelors or Master’s Degree level in Engineering (ideally mechanical/electrical or electronical, but other technical degrees also welcome), or a Business degree with significant experience in a Technical environment.
Extensive sales experience, preferable in Business to Business key account management in an industrial environment.
Commercial skills, customer-oriented negotiation skills, presentation skills, and the ability to identify, pursue, and capture new business.
Pro-active attitude and clearly capable of setting priorities.
English is required language (speaking and writing), any other European language will be a plus.
Willing to travel extensively, up to 50% of time, within Europe and occasionally in Asia and USA.
Comfortable working from a home office.
