Sensata Technologies, Inc. Technical Training and Support Representative in Troy, Michigan

To provide technical support in-person, via telephone, and email for customers on all automotive aftermarket product lines. Responsible for delivering technical training seminars and presentations to customers at their place of business or at industry events and trade shows. Serve as a resource to the global Aftermarket Technical Support Team helping the team to meet its annual business goals. In this role the key purpose is training and customer support for the North American market.


Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering insightful training sessions on location as requested.

  • Achieving technical support objectives by efficiently, promptly and thoroughly handling all incoming queries and concerns regarding the technical aspects of our aftermarket products.

  • Being willing to work flexible hours on a rotating basis to provide technical support during peak business hours in multiple time zones.

  • Providing regular feedback to the global Aftermarket Technical Team regarding problems and/or opportunities for improvements with our products, training content and related tools.

  • Improving personal technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations as directed.

  • Assisting in any other duties as required by manager.

  • Delivering professional, high-quality hands-on training seminars to customers at their place of business.

  • Preparing and delivering presentations/seminars to customers in group settings.

  • Responsibility for providing technical support via telephone, email and in-person for customers on all automotive aftermarket product lines including TPMS sensors and programming tools. Travel across North America is required for training and/or company meetings.

  • Performing product failure analysis and generating test reports for review and corrective action.

  • Communicating product issues with the global development teams and encouraging corrective action.

  • Attending and participating in trade shows as required.

  • Business travel to other geographical regions to perform vehicle testing or training as required.

  • Conducting vehicle testing and generating test results and recommendations to promote continuous improvement of our current validation process.

Job Requirements:

  • College Diploma or University Degree

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in technical training

  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.

  • A strong personality that is not intimidated by major internal / external customers.

  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.

  • Desired to speak and write both English and Spanish fluently

  • Excellent computer skills including well versed in all Microsoft Office software and Outlook email.

  • Experience in the area of TPMS (Transmitters/Sensors and Receivers) and TPMS Diagnostic and Scan tools (e.g. LF activation tools, etc.)

Additional Details

  • Valid Passport & can travel globally

  • Overnight travel is estimated at 40 - 60%.

  • Willingness to travel throughout North America to support training objectives.
