Sales Engineer is the main channel of communication between customer engineering and Sensata, this individual owns customer engineering voice and is responsible of transmitting it internally while facilitate the right track and support to customer’s top concerns related with new business opportunities, development and execution of projects, programs and product changes.

Sales Engineer is also responsible of providing punctual local and on-site support to top customer engineering concerns as well as facilitating that every aspect of projects and programs is completed on time and compliant with whole customer specific requirements

General Responsibilities

  • Provide local support to customers related with new business opportunities, projects, programs and existing products portfolio including attending product trials and providing on-site troubleshooting within North America customer facilities (plants and technical centers

  • Provide voice of the customer engineering back to the organization on regards new business opportunities, projects, programs, existing products portfolio and serve as first line of escalation. (Organize immediate internal escalations with key stakeholders as required)

  • Facilitate compliance with all customer's engineering documentation and procedures (ECR, FR, CNs, Alerts, etc.), including the tracking of Sensata engineering team deliverables and support removing customer generated roadblocks.

  • Facilitating the link between Sensata manufacturing operations/quality teams and customer to solve concerns and questions related with manufacturing processes and quality controls.

  • Facilitate and lead technical reviews with customer proactively and ahead of any new business opportunity in order to get the cross-functional team early engaged with customer expectations. In addition, this individual is expected to take the lead on addressing technical questions from customer to internal teams

  • Facilitate and lead the main communication forum between Sensata BU directors and customer key stakeholders

  • Producing clear, accurate and timely reporting status of top customer issues with clear actions, owners and deadlines in order communicate them internally for fast resolution

  • Getting Installed new products or prototypes on test vehicles, conduct product performance testing at vehicle-level and generating the appropriate engineering report for Sensata and customer purposes.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
