Sensata Technologies, Inc. Product Engineer III in Troy, Michigan
JOB DUTIES: Complete customers’ engineering-related documentation; Monitor internal engineering team to ensure deliverables are delivered on time and within budget; Conduct product performance testing at vehicle-level; generate the appropriate engineering report for internal team and external customer purposes; Support on-site before-and-during product trial runs (PTRs) for critical projects at North American customer facilities; Serve as the initial point of contact for customer support and conduct on-site troubleshooting for reported issues at North American customer sites; Serve as a liaison between external customers and internal Manufacturing Operations/Quality Teams to support customer concerns and questions about manufacturing, quality controls, and processes; Track, record, and regularly report Radio Frequency Certifications from other countries to ensure they are valid and complete; Proactively conduct customer technical reviews ahead of new business opportunities to engage cross-functional teams with customer expectations; Act as internal team lead on addressing technical questions from customers regarding product/technology roadmap/portfolio.
75% domestic travel within Detroit region to visit customers and Sensata HQ in Attleboro, MA.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering and 2 years of product engineering experience in the automotive industry.
2 years of experience must include: Automotive Electrical Architecture of product development and integration of electrical components into original equipment manufacturer automotive electrical system; utilizing Minitab; utilizing Controller Area Network protocol, tools, and software for product development and troubleshooting; judging Controller Area Network data obtained from vehicle testing and building proper test results report; Monitoring Automotive Industry Product and Quality Planning Procedures and its deliverables throughout the product life cycle; Troubleshooting and supporting original equipment manufacturer plants In-Line and End-of-Line Testing during pre-production runs for the launch of new electrical components and platforms; engineering change process and its validation to support customer requests; Design Engineering; Product Development Process; Product Manufacturing Process; Circuit diagraming; Soldering; Creating and analyzing Excel charts reporting statistics; Power Point and Microsoft Word; Leading meetings under difficult technical negotiations.1 year of experience must include: experience working on Controller Area Network data collection and analysis including Datalog Software.
