JOB DUTIES: Support and develop business through building and maintaining relationships in the automotive market in several business areas of our major accounts in North America. The focus of this role will be towards important system Tiers, including Tier 1 development process know-how and Tier engagement capabilities. Act as the technical peer of the Account Manager, focused on Sensata’s key customers of that area. Own the relationship with customers’ engineering organizations and be the technical liaison between customers and Sensata Engineering. Maintain and expand customer relationship, including identifying main engineering counterparts at customer and maintaining contact with them; organizing technical dialogue with Sensors teams, systems engineering, architecture, or innovations/technology roadmap team(s) at customer; and open new doors, build intimacy and trust. Fill the pipeline of new business opportunities, including inquire, investigate, propose systems/products optimizations, changes, improvements; filter customer inputs into Sensata dimensions; and provide urgent practical help (test/sort/select). Build value propositions, including define areas for technical improvement; review technical requirements and help select relevant technology for concept development; understand customer context in terms of designs and processes, propose technical approach to meet customers true needs; provide dedicated and focused support to key Tier customers at technical levels; communicate pro-actively strategies and tactics to the customer and manage customer expectations; own and deploy the customer specific strategy technically; and support building customer specific value proposition in collaboration with the internal stakeholders. Assist in aligning projects and product developments with customer needs, while effectively negotiating technical specifications as required. Support product engineering team with initial engineering analyses by reviewing proposed product specifications and utilize computer aided engineering applications to apply conditions, replicate performance, and evaluate the manufacturability of products. Provide onsite technical assistance to the sales team at industry trade shows and customer demonstrations.

50% Domestic travel required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering or foreign equivalent and 2 years of experience in Engineering and Technology. 1 year of experience in each of the following required: Engineering Principles of Stress - Strain Analysis; Engineering Design; Product Development Process; and Product Manufacturing Process.

OTHER: Job site: 1960 Research Drive, Suite 100, Troy, MI 48083; Hybrid work from home schedule permitted two (2) days/week within a reasonable commuting distance to the office located at 1960 Research Drive, Suite 100, Troy, MI 48083; 40 hours/week
