The primary responsibility is to achieve significant long term sales growth and customer partnership at assigned key accounts in the Heavy Vehicle and Off-Road (HVOR) business.
Responsible for all sales and new business development activities at assigned accounts. Responsible to develop and win new business opportunities for mission-critical sensors and controls that help the customer meet the growing needs for safety, energy efficiency and clean environment. Responsible for achieving sales and share growth at customer, developing sustaining relationships with key buying influences, as well as meeting or exceeding goals set by the business.
This is primarily achieved through understanding customer applications and establishing strong industry relationships with the customer at all levels. Additionally, the candidate will need to develop strategies for closing new business, and growing the Sensata portfolio across multiple divisions. This position has to be able to understand customer’s business strategy/needs and translate those into opportunities for Sensata to participate.
Ideal candidate will be someone with experience in Sales or Business Development in growth-oriented organizations.
Manage and develop the overall customer relationship with assigned global account.
Works as primary contact for assigned account, including management, engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing and other areas. Manages involvement of other team members as needed.
Develop long term, strategic relationships with key buying influences at assigned accounts.
Develop strategic supply relationship with customer, targeting exclusive partner level relationship for all key product / application areas.
Leads HVOR team at customer to achieve superior supplier performance ratings.
Leads the development and is fully responsible for the deployment of the account and multi generation product plans
Partner with marketing and product management to establish and execute product roadmaps aligned with customer sourcing roadmaps and multi generation product plans
Understand decision makers and their influence on awarding business within various disciplines (Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing)
Understand competitor’s strengths and weaknesses
Leads the team for the successful execution and alignment of global customer strategies and account plan
Actively develop and manage the NBO pipeline to achieve incremental content, market share and sales growth goals.
Actively manage all activities and communication related to global account within the CRM system, keeping information current and accurate at all times to benefit the organization
Performance of other duties as assigned or required.
Frequent business travel required.
BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Business required. Masters or MBA a plus.
1+ year experience in technical OEM sales or business development role
Experience within commercial vehicle, off-road machinery, or automotive markets preferred
Experience in powertrain systems, hydraulics or sensors applications a plus
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent time management; self-starter
Proven leadership and/or team management experience strongly preferred
Proven aptitude with CRM systems preferred
Proven aptitude with Miller-Heiman Strategic and Conceptual Selling methodologies a plus
Skills and characteristics:
Excellent oral and written communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills required.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external and internal customers.
Results Orientation evidenced by having delivered outstanding performance, through strong sales performance based on clear business growth and development in various market settings and business cycles. Results are measured with clear metrics and performance indicators are used to drive and manage the business.
Customer Focus shown through the development and maintenance of trustworthy and lasting customer relationships with a clear focus on sales and service delivery and exceeding customer expectations while ensuring profitable business and a perspective for future customer needs. They will clearly understand the customer dynamics and be able to anticipate and changing needs and act/react quickly to new situations.

They should have a strong drive to engage and motivate team members and business partners. Good negotiation skills are essential. Furthermore, they should be able to communicate with enthusiasm and confidence to others.
