Sensata Technologies, Inc. Sourcing Manager, Aerospace in Thousand Oaks, California
The Global Sourcing team within our Global Operations organization is seeking a Sourcing Manager to provide leadership and support to develop and implement global sourcing strategies for $150M of direct material & indirect spend categories for our Aerospace Business. The incumbent will be accountable for prioritizing and executing an evolving portfolio of strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost reduction, ensure capacity and supply continuity, delivery performance as well as managing and leading value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) efforts to optimize spend categories to enable achievement of business unit and organizational objectives and goals. Collaborates with key stakeholders and works cross-functionally in developing and executing sourcing strategies in support of company’s growth strategy. Establish world‐class supplier development and relationship management practices. Assess external market trends and conditions to identify opportunities and risks in supply categories. Ensure sourcing efforts leverage market intelligence, should‐cost modeling, TCO analysis, and e-Sourcing techniques & tools. The incumbent will support New Program Introduction (NPI) initiatives, work with Engineering on design-to-cost activities, and execute strategies with the purpose of winning new business. Implement procedures for reviewing supplier performance against contracted obligations/service levels and business expectations. Provide guidance to tactical procurement teams. Ensure process integrity through compliance with internal policies and controls, laws, regulations, and ethical standards set by the company and government authorities, specifically ITAR and EAR. Drives a culture change of continuous improvement and organization excellence.
Actively manage the end-to-end strategic and procurement process
Provide innovative strategies for optimizing sourcing effectiveness
Coordinate with both Corporate and BU stakeholders to establish and implement long-term strategic objectives to continually enhance BU’s market position
Accountable to performance metrics (KPI’s) and drives initiatives to ensure goals are met and on-schedule
Vendor performance and issues resolution management
Internal customer support and issues resolution
Create forums for cross functional cost reduction projects and manage execution accordingly
Ensure key negotiations are being delivered; coach Make site team as required
Management and advocacy of procurement processes
Utilization of strategic procurement policies, procedures, guidelines and tools
Utilization of contracts management, negotiation and market intelligence skills
Utilization of spend and price analytics skills

Bachelors degree in purchasing, engineering, or business administration
5+ years of Sourcing or Procurement experience
Significant experience in procurement for an Aerospace company
Experience performing in a complex, matrix environment
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies yielding measurable business results
15-25% travel is expected
Additional preferred skills/experience:
Oracle ERP Experience desired (R11 and/or R12)
Proficient with Microsoft suites
Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience strongly desired
ISM certification (CPM, CPSM, etc.)
