Sensata Technologies, Inc. Quality Assurance Manager in Thousand Oaks, California

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing all internal quality improvements and customer quality reports, as well as taking part in the global quality system improvement activities.

General Responsibilities

  • Manages the sharing and implementation of best practices across all business units

  • Responsible for the activities of the Quality Management System

  • Responsible for time management and operational support

  • Manages and produces Quality Assurance measures and metrics which report any trends or process improvement opportunities for each project

  • Manages the training and other required activities for the department

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customer

  • Manage the inspection personnel as well as monitoring performance and attendance. Ensures that the inspection personnel have documented training that meets all Customer requirements while also maintainingsummaries of employment for all management, inspection, and certificated personnel.Manage performance, evaluation, and skill advancement of direct reports. Provide performance feedback formally/informally; rewards/recognizes employee contributions.

  • Serves as the liaison between inspection and operation. Will on occasion be required to perform airworthiness verification (Conformity Inspection) directly from blueprints, schematic drawings, or other specification documents.

  • Develop plans for continuous improvement for the inspection team that drive overall efficiency and accuracy.

  • Support and deployment of appropriate Quality Management Systems.Maintains compliance with procedures for inspection (incoming, in-process, final) processes. Witnessing of inspections and/or testing of materials, detailed parts, components, subassembly and/or end item products, using both standard and special gages, instruments or equipment are required.

  • Promotes aviation safety by ensuring adherence to all regulatory and statutory requirements.

  • Remain knowledgeable of the applicable FAA airworthiness standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Attend/complete FAA sponsored training as required.

  • Cooperate with the FAA in exercising DMIR authority.

  • Document and maintain records and reports related to the verifications performed.

  • Develops and manages quality assurance metrics to measure opportunities for improvement, progress on goals and accountability for performance.

  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems

  • FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and/or 145 experience a plus.

  • FAA A&P Certificate desired but not required.

  • Previous verifiable experience as a DAR/DMIR/ODAR/ODA-Unit Member in good-standing is highly preferredand may offset some or all the experience requirements.

  • Six Sigma Greenbeltand or CQE.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies and problem diagnosis down to the component piece level desired.

This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must: (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident (i.e., "green card holder") of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, provided that you have applied for naturalization within six months of the date you first became eligible, and if not yet accepted, you are actively pursuing naturalization after two years from the date of your application.

Base Salary Range:

$103,680.00 - $142,560.00
