The Global PMO Director is responsible for full lifecycle management of the Aerospace business unit’s product portfolio spanning multiple technologies and capabilities. This leadership role has ownership of product strategy, management of new product developments and ensures seamless new product introduction by leveraging the process engineering team. The Director will work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operations functions across several design and manufacturing centers to support Aerospace Business Unit’s strategic goals and initiatives.

The Global PMO Director leads the Program Management Team, tasked with assuring that client programs achieve their commercial business case throughout their lifecycle, while working closely with customers to ensure that schedule and technical requirements are met or exceeded leading to satisfaction and future business awards. The role will proactively identify risks and opportunities across product and programs to improve financial performance, while maintaining organizational standards of customer satisfaction, quality, and integrity.

General Responsibilities

  • Directs all phases of client programs, from inception through completion

  • Responsible for the cost, implementation and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs

  • Coordinates the preparation of business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract

  • Ensures the development process is congruent with current market trends, program goals, and client needs

  • Acts as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and performance

  • Analyzes problem/opportunity areas of assigned programs and evaluates options

  • Evaluates performance and makes recommendations

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to program plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications

  • Determines the profitability and viability of new products or program enhancements

  • Develops strategies and tactics to ensure effective program performance relative to market opportunity, working closely with company functional groups over the entire life cycle

  • Directs and oversees responsibilities of team to ensure priorities and deliverables are met

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 10-12 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Establish strategy maps, pricing models and margin roadmaps for all major product groups.

  • Support bid and proposal activity and develop cost models to forecast discounted cashflow.

  • Monitor and assure return on investment aligned to program commercial business case.

  • Identify cost reduction and waste elimination opportunities using Lean Six Sigma methodology.

  • Support development and deployment of Business Unit strategy.

  • Develop value propositions based upon product differentiation and competitive landscape.

  • Accountable for product and program financial performance metrics.

  • Determine the profitability and viability of new products or program enhancements

  • Develop a high-performance culture, engage team and focus on developing talent.
