Sensata Technologies, Inc. CNC Machinist in Thousand Oaks, California

Must set-up, run, and inspect parts to drawing specifications using CNC Lathe or CNC Mill, and/or CNC millturn. Candidate is required to perform first article inspections and correct any discrepancies between part measurements and print requirements. Must perform advanced set-up and fixturing of jobs. Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and rectify any problems. Should be adept in all aspects of machining and assist other machinists as needed.

  • Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and layout techniques

  • Able to set up and operate C/N/C Lathe or CNC Mill with 5-10 years’ experience

  • Utilizes tools and measuring instruments including, but not limited to saw, shear, grinder, calipers, micrometer, calculator, and various other hand tools

  • Read blueprints, machine and inspect completed parts and related documentation

  • Retrieve appropriate tools from tool crib to complete job

  • Refer to reference books or confer with engineers to resolve questions/issues.

  • Maintains equipment as necessary

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate must have/be:

  • Reading, writing and math ability.

  • Years of experience: 5 -10 years

  • Able to read, speak and understand the English language

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift/carry/pull/push up to 20lbs

  • Occasionally (approximately 3 hours per shift) required to go through intervals of walking; sitting; twisting; bending.

Pay Range - $23.00 - $35.80 per hour

Additional Details:

Because this position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must: (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident (i.e., "green card holder") of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, provided that you have applied for naturalization within six months of the date you first became eligible, and if not yet accepted, you are actively pursuing naturalization after two years from the date of your application.
