Sensata Technologies, Inc. Aftermarket Planner / Expeditor in Thousand Oaks, California

Sensata is currently seeking a Planner / Expeditor to join our growing Aftermarket team. As a critical part of the day-to-day business operations, this position will help facilitate growth by coordinating activities between Aftermarket Operations and our Production facilities in Thousand Oaks and Tijuana. This individual will be an enthusiastic self starter, comfortable working on their own and as part of a fast paced team focused on ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The Planner / Expeditor will also Plan, prepare, issue, and control moderately complex and/or diverse Aftermarket schedule and sales order requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet customer promise dates. The position will be based at our manufacturing facility in Thousand Oaks, California.

  • Identifies variety of finished goods and component requirements for the Aftermarket work streams and acts as Aftermarket liaison to Production to ensure that materials flow and are delivered per their original promise dates.

  • Advises management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.

  • Recommends changes to improve the planning process for all Aftermarket materials.

  • Evaluates and confirms materials supply is available to meet demand. Prepares work orders, or transfer orders for the production or purchase of components or parts to support the Aftermarket production and spares sales demand.

  • Coordinates material movements between sites, internal work and storage areas, and/or outside processing or suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed.

  • Analyzes inventory usage, scrap, and waste, and recommends any appropriate actions to minimize loss, reduce inventory, and/or increase inventory turnover that would support inventory level objectives.

  • Advises and assists management in resolving problems concerning over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and cancellation of orders.

  • Assists in the application of continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on specific projects. Mentors new employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement)

  • Working with production management in both Thousand Oaks and Tijuana to establish prioritization and ensure that materials are forwarded to production and/or delivered to the Aftermarket plant on time.

  • This position may also pull parts/materials from stock for delivery to production lines, close work orders and update materials systems.

  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate must have/be:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent and 3+ years planning experience (preferably Aerospace or other high-tech manufacturing)

  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in English (Written & Verbal)

  • Proficient with corporate productivity and MS Office applications. Excellent MS Excel skills and experience working with JDE would be an advantage

  • Track record of over-achieving with excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail

  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills are a must

  • Enthusiastic and Customer Service driven team player, capable and willing to work in a diverse environment

  • Excellent solutions-oriented and problem solving ability

  • Proactive and results-driven with a positive outlook and willingness to take initiative

  • Strong listening and presentation skills

  • Good business acumen

Additional Details:

This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR.
