This role is for a Manager for the industrialisation team that creates solutions for ASIC production test and ASIC evaluation on the bench. The team is responsible for implementation from the initial design for test specification through to release.

The manager will provide technical leadership and line management for the Industrialisation team. They are responsible for ensuring the correct test solution capability throughout the design process and the use of appropriate tools and methods, including verification by simulation and lab characterisation. Time to market and solution reliability must be a team focus. The team is expected to maximise automation, code reuse and modular design for development and future maintenance efficiency.

The manager must provide regular clear and concise reporting on progress and issues to senior management.

The manager should set expectations of continuous improvement in production test development efficacy, measurement and calibration. This includes maintaining an awareness and educating their team in modern methods and equipment applicable to evaluation and production test, introducing these to the working practices of the team where appropriate.

Networking with the wider Sensata organisation is required to ensure cross functional learning and where possible commonality with testing in other parts of the organisation.

  • Leads the development of our products for new and existing customers

  • Moderates the efficient and effective planning and organization of the activities to timely deliver product or design with highest quality

  • Translate customer requirements to the product test strategy and oversee design and product validation programs

  • Supervises involvement in projects and problem solving outside of own direct area

  • Identifies the next generation of growth opportunities and support the smooth integration of new product developments and plan the roll-out of new technology

  • Provide continuous coaching and development of team

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 5-7 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

A deep understanding of ASIC production test development requirements.

  • Knowledge in the following areas:

  • Analogue and digital integrated circuits

  • ASIC evaluation (bench testing ASICs)

  • ASIC modelling and verification (in simulation environment)

  • ATE and automated measurement system capabilities (package and wafer level)

  • BIST / DFT specification and implementation

  • Database tools (e.g. Galaxy)

  • Enabling a virtual test platform DFT EOL

  • IC manufacturing defects

  • Managing the outsourcing of coding and test program development Software coding standards

  • Statistical analysis methods

  • Testing an ASIC as a ‘system’

Ensure that industrialisation is a key element of the ASIC development process from project initiation onwards.

Advise on and review ASIC architectures for testability. Advise on DFT where appropriate. Advise on wafer and package level test choices.

Ensure the specification of evaluation, qualification and production test requirements are created at the appropriate time and maintained throughout the development process.

Ensure that PFMEA and process capability analysis are the responsibility of the industrialisation team and support FMEA generally in the development process.

Work with the ASIC design team to ensure that system verification, ASIC characterisation and production test development are considered together to de-risk and speed up the development of high volume production test solutions.

Identify appropriate tools and solutions. Ensure they are used in the development process and ATE solutions. Examples could include but, are not limited to, hardware simulation and emulation, data base and yield analysis tools. Ensure that tools exist to monitor quality and yields in production, that they are used and their results are used to continuously improve production test quality.

Ensure the team utilise standardisation of ATE coding, improving test program structure and architecture to reduce inefficiencies in code development and longer-term OPs support for variants or ASIC design / feature improvements.

Ensure the most suitable ATE platform is selected for each project, considering capital costs, facilities requirements, engineering effort and product roadmap to achieve the targeted cost of test.

Ensure that the industrialisation team are trained and developed appropriately for their role and future career aspirations.

Monitor software tools and hardware platforms to ensure obsolesce is planned for and business continuity is maintained.

Keep abreast of industry standard development practices in all appropriate areas. These could include but are not limited to software development, circuit test methods, calibration techniques and statistical analysis.

Interface to OPS: Provide production ready solutions with acceptable yields and OEE

Interface to APPS / ASIC Design: virtual development with code reused from design verification through IC bench test and into production test

Maintain KPI monitoring and reporting for the following:

Test coverage

Adherence to planned budget and timescales

Yield & test time
