Sensata Technologies, Inc. Financial Analyst in St Paul, Minnesota
The Finance Analyst will be responsible for the financial accounting, analysis and forecasting for the Power Conversion Solutions business unit. Track financial performance including unit cost, cost reduction, variance analysis, etc. Comply with corporate policy, accounting, standards, and legal requirements. Lead monthly close and quarterly/annual planning processes. Prepare financial information to evaluate business performance and support business decisions. Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts.
Financial analysis and planning for Power Conversion Solutions business unit (consolidation of Magnum Energy and Dimensions businesses)
Prepare income statement (P&L) and asset forecast for business unit (Annual Plan, Quarterly Updates and Long Range Plans)
Perform corporate month-end closing activities such as preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries related to inventory, fixed assets, and other areas
Prepare financial information to evaluate business performance and to support business decisions
Analyze and understand product costs and cost reduction programs
Maintain inventory cycle count programs and monitor cycle count adjustments; coordinate physical inventory counts
Reconcile consignment transactions to perpetual inventory records
Perform financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to support business finance teams as required
Provide guidance and support to project managers and other business partners. This includes financial information and understanding of policies and procedures
Return on investment analysis-new products, capacity and cost reductions
Compliance with corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles and legal requirements
Prepare presentation materials
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
The ideal candidate should have a BS in Accounting, and a minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in a fast-paced corporate accounting department of a large corporation or a public accounting firm
The candidate should be a quick learner, have strong problem solving skills and analytical abilities, and be an independent thinker with a proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
The candidate should be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels across a large organization and with non-US locations, and to interface with and work with multiple disciplines and cultures
The candidate should be detailed and deadline-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities
The candidate should be able to research accounting guidance and interpret the guidance to apply to various business transactions
The candidate should possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with inventory and fixed assets accounting systems preferred
Experience with PC MRB, Hyperion and/or Oracle R12 is preferred, but not required
