Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Communications Specialist in Sofia, Bulgaria

Reporting to the European Communications Lead and serving as a critical member of Sensata’s global communications function, you will lead our team within Bulgaria, developing and implementing strategies and programmes to communicate the company’s business objectives, culture and values internally and externally.

You will be a strategic advisor to senior business leaders within Bulgaria and European markets and you will help us build our brand as an employer of first choice and to drive employee engagement with Sensata’s purpose and strategy among its 5,000 Bulgarian employees.

The Employee Communication Specialist writes, edits, reviews and oversees release of internal communication documents and programs that support the organization. Edits and enhances internal communication materials, including intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts and speeches. Reviews and edits essential internal communications prior to dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness.

Your role will include internal and external communications management.

Internal communications

  • Manage engaging, accurate and timely communications in English and Bulgarian to employees in order to develop a strong company culture

  • Translate and localise global company messages so that they resonate with Bulgarian employees

  • Support the senior management team to develop messaging and to co-ordinate large scale employee briefings both virtually and in-person.

  • Develop strong relationships with key senior leaders within different business divisions and provide strategic advice and practical support

  • Develop interesting content on activities happening within Bulgaria which can be shared with Sensata’s global employee base

  • Manage the publication of newsletters, e-bulletins, emails and digital communications to share information with employees and to respond to requests for information

External communications

  • Manage Sensata’s external communications with media, stakeholders and customers and develop content that reinforces Sensata’s key strategic pillars and messaging

  • Lead a campaign to promote Sensata as an employer of choice and to differentiate us from our competitors

  • Work with external agencies and providers in order to ensure strong delivery of campaign deliverables, objectives and value for money

  • Develop and manage content for social media which promotes Sensata’s brand values

  • Forge links and develop partnerships with key stakeholders to reinforce Sensata’s position within the Bulgarian market

  • Ensure good brand compliance and promotion on all written materials

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritise, collaborate and operate at all levels. Specifically:

  • A university degree and 5 years of experience

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation in English and Bulgarian

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Ability to lead and develop team members

  • Strong organisation, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and it would be desirable to have some knowledge of graphic design packages

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisation including suppliers

  • Willingness to travel within Bulgaria and, when safety restrictions allow, to other locations
