Sensata Technologies, Inc. Mechanical Design Drafter-2 in Sofia, Bulgaria

The Design Drafter position entails sketching the layout with proper dimensions and standards for products. These products will be created in cooperation with design engineering and uploaded in the company PLM system (Agile) by the Design Drafter.

General Responsibilities

  • Key participant in auditing the drawings for the correct recording of standards and measurements

  • Coordinate the revision management of drawings and documents

  • Collaborate on the analysis of the information of the product and component subject to possible technical imperfections

  • Provide input to the design engineers regarding the design

  • Maintaining contact with the international suppliers of components throughout the design process on the design and technical possibilities of modifications

  • Maintaining contact with local suppliers in the concept phase on technical details of mechanical parts (for making prototypes)

  • Maintain communication with design engineers, test engineers and internal divisions of the company

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

ROLE SPECIFIC - CREATION OF ENGINEERING DESIGN FILES

  • Create and update engineering 3D models/drawings using SolidWorks

  • Aid design and development of TPMS products e.g. rim fitment studies, jigs & fixtures

  • Carry out 3D model image rendering to support internal and external customer documentation

  • Follow design lead and direction from mechanical engineering team based in Antrim (Northern Ireland)

ROLE SPECIFIC - CAD PLM SYSTEM SUPPORT

  • Upload and manage design files on CAD PLM system (Agile)

  • Provide PLM technical support for Agile integration with SolidWorks, Catia and NX

ROLE SPECIFIC ENGINEERING DOCUMENTATION AND RELEASE

  • Update product documentation including BOMs and PMCDs

  • Use of Agile/Aras PLM systems for document management

  • Support DFCO/ECO release for CAD and documents

  • Interact with and support document control/BOM release team based in Sensata Antrim

ROLE GENERIC

  • Support mechanical engineering team and other internal customers in execution of tasks and any other reasonable requests

  • Contribute to the overall team/departmental strategy

  • Participate in the day-to-day activities of the team and work effectively as a team member to ensure continuous improvement

  • Meet performance measures and KPI’s set for you and your team

  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with members of your team and other parts of the business

  • Participate in training opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Design, Transportation technology, CAD Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or other technical education;

  • Experience with 3D mechanical design software - SolidWorks (2 years and above);

  • Experience also with Catia or NX are considered as advantage;

  • Experience with PLM or PDM system;

  • Computer literacy MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);

  • English language both written and verbal Upper Intermediate level and above.
