Sensata Technologies, Inc. Global Aftermarket Project Leader in Sofia, Bulgaria

As part of the Global Aftermarket Operations and New Products Development team, the Project Leader will be responsible for meeting dynamic project deliverables through accelerated project management, mainly within the VMS portfolio (Vehicle Management Systems). The individual will work closely with the wider Operations, Product Management, Marketing & Business Development, Sales, Engineering, Production, Distribution Centre Logistics and Customer Service teams, to realize their deliverables and support evolving global market share & revenue targets.

This role requires the individual to own all necessary project management activities from pre-award through to customer launch and subsequent change management. Regular customer interaction, flexibility and a creative approach towards problem solving will be key to success and continued growth. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, active listening and appropriate / thought-out decision-making skills. A proven ability to work autonomously is essential to the role.

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. The Project Manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports regarding status of project.


General Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

  • Develops comprehensive project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Defines project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals

  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis

  • Regularly communicates and presents project schedules, statuses, and updates to various team members and bringing solutions/opportunities

  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers


  • Overall responsibility for leading and driving cross functional teams.

  • Create and deliver project plans and revise as appropriate to meet the frequently changing needs and requirements of the AFM marketplace / customers.

  • Serve as operational project point of contact for VMS NBOs.

  • Utilize appropriate tools / frameworks for NPD & CM.

  • Co-ordinate Aftermarket bill of material development and production readiness activities

  • Responsibility for Aftermarket configuration, specific to Hub re-pack & distribution e.g.: Distribution Centre Process Flows / ISO 9000 alignment

  • Responsibility for the profitability of VMS product introductions.

  • Support the management of product recovery opportunities.

  • Realise cost reduction opportunities.

  • Support in E&O planning efforts (as required).

  • Support Product Life cycle change activities for specific product families (as required).

  • Support Operational efforts for VMS AFM products (as required).
