Sensata Technologies, Inc. Equipment maintenance software engineer in Sofia, Bulgaria

As an Equipment Maintenance SW Engineer at Sensata you will be part of our lab equipment development and maintenance team. You will work on developing and supporting current and future testing and programming systems that will be used in our test labs and production lines. This role is located in our site in Sofia, you will be working together with colleagues located in the Sofia, Plovdiv and Botevgrad also locations in US UK and the Netherlands to support our European projects.

General Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, develoment, and implementation of cost-effective methods through testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing

  • Leads the testing of diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products

  • Coordinates the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices

  • Ensure that programs are in compliance with standards for good laboratory practices good manufacturing practices and/or good clinical practices

  • Responsible for setting the parameters and testing customer samples

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

We are looking for Senior maintenance software engineer who will be a part of equipment build department, in the biggest Sensata’s test laboratory situated in Sofia. In this environment most of the equipment and automated setups are with custom design, specially created to meet a specific customer requirement during the process of test and validation of the products. Most of the tasks will be related to support and maintenance of Sensata laboratory test OEM equipment based on PLC platforms.

Position responsibilities

Maintenance of current lab equipment based on PLC systems (Beckhoff, Siemens Pilz etc.) in Test lab location Sofia/Botevgrad

Active role in development of a new test equipment setups according to customer requirements.

Responsible to do configuration and extension of test equipment for newly developed products.

Support and implement a new product validation.

Support other locations in case of problems with production test equipment.

Position requirements

You have a Master or Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or comparable.

2-5 years of relevant engineering work experience is preferred,

Experience with industrial PLC based equipment .

Competency in electronics and ability to design simple circuits and cabling.

Experience with measurements and measurements automation is big advantage

Familiarity with data acquisition equipment. This equipment is controlled via a PC utility to exercise the product being configured and tested.

Basic understanding of databases

Experience with electronics design is a plus;

Familiarity with functional programming.

Familiarity with CAN and LIN and SENT data bus is a plus.

Good proficiency in English is a must.

Someone with a pro-active and persistent attitude to be able to solve problems and overcome obstacles. You can deliver results in a complex, fast-paced environment.
