Lithium Balance develops Li-ion battery management systems (BMS) to control and monitor the increasingly powerful and complex batteries of the future green energy sector. We are growing rapidly and are recruiting for an Embedded Software Manager to lead the software team to develop and produce new generations of battery management systems for batteries in cars, trains, motorcycles and solar panel energy storage.

Responsibilities include

  • Leadership of the embedded software development team to execute development activities according to development processes and project timelines.

  • Line management responsibility for team members, with a strong people-focus to facilitate high levels of collaboration and motivation.

  • Provide training and personal development of the embedded software team.

  • Communication of embedded SW status to internal and external stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with the other team managers, develop tools, capabilities and processes to ensure the continuous improvement of personnel and department skill and capabilities.

The ideal applicant will have the majority of the qualifications below:

  • A bachelor or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science or similar.

  • 8+ years post-university industrial experience (ideally in a related field).

  • Profound experience with embedded C, C++, RTOS and possibly object-oriented development in C#/.NET.

  • Experience with model-based development (e.g. Simulink) is an advantage.

  • Proven leadership in developing high quality software in a structured way (we comply w. ISO26262 and target ASPICE) in ways that support effective delivery in a fast growing company

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and deliver results despite the ambiguity and complexity typically associated with emerging technologies and markets

  • Strong understanding of the principles of embedded system architectures and development phases to effectively lead your team and critique their work A strong sense of urgency and a good deal of humour.

As our new software manager, you will be part of the BMS R&D group of 25 people and the SW team of 10 dedicated engineers working in Smørum near Copenhagen. You will be working closely with the system, hardware and test teams as well as our sales team, our partners and customers.
