Sensata Technologies, Inc. Test Development Principal Engineer (Team Lead) in Pune, India

We are looking for an exceptional Quality Assurance Engineering Professional to join us in building the next generation QA tools for Control Telematics Platform team within Sensata Insights business unit.

Sensata Insights team delivers world-class, cloud-native solutions based on our industry leading telematics and sensing devices with intelligent edge technology designed to solve real business problems in fleet, transportation/logistics, asset tracking and automotive related markets.

This role is primary for development, maintenance of automated and manual testing tools and testing frameworks for the Control Telematics team. To own the roadmap for these tools and provide updates at a sprint level cadence to improve continuous integration of the Control Telematics product teams.

Responsibilities and goals

  • Own the design and development of existing test tools and frameworks.

  • Perform gap analysis collaboratively with product teams to improve our current testing tools. Some potential gaps that need to be addressed by these tools:

  • Collection and publication of daily continuous integration test results by product line.

  • Performance testing tools for benchmarking product performance and prevent regressions.

  • End to end solution testing definition and use cases to ensure consistent release quality. Design and develop tools to facilitate test case creation and execution by the other development teams.

  • Support our ability to obtain measurable, historical results that can show trends of quality over time.

  • Obtain the requirements from the dev teams and then create and drive the roadmap forward to deliver on the agreed upon defined features.

  • Tools to collect and publish results automatically.

  • Tools to run regression tests against our web services platforms.

  • Tools to facilitate and run end-to-end and system testing.

  • Tools to simulate various vehicle and vehicle bus configurations and test automations.

  • Own product backlog and associated user stories for driving the quality tools roadmap.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a track record of managing development teams to deliver products.

  • Technical leadership and management experience of building and managing a small team.

  • Proficient programming skills in JavaScript, Python and C/C++.

  • Experience with IoT devices will be highly preferred.

  • Full stack experience including web services, back-end, front-end, protocols.

  • Experience with vehicle bus products and CAN protocols desired.

  • Experience with MS office and project planning tools.
