We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to act as a Launch Manager for PLV make site. The Launch Manager will be responsible for strategic planning and execution for all new product production launches in Plovdiv and will have to meet challenging schedules, drive results, and establish priorities for various project tasks related to existing and future capacity requirements. The role requires the ability to manage the business and technology risks associated with launching new programs or producing existing products with changes. This position offers the selected candidate the opportunity to lead global teams in a fast-paced, growth oriented, automotive technology environment in pursuit of overall business goals.

General Responsibilities

  • Key participant in the development of new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes for assembly, calibration and testing

  • Define specifications for production equipment and interact with mechanization (in house) and/or equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications

  • Key participant in global new product development project teams to enable successful launch of new products

  • Collaborate with other departments on process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications and continuity of equipment

  • Influence product designs during new product development phase to ensure economical and defect free manufacture

  • Developing new or improved manufacturing and testing processes that are necessary to achieve the performance and cost requirements of future device applications

  • Organize the arranging of sample lines and process development equipment

  • Key participant in advanced quality planning activities

  • Coordinates all functional requirements, the reviewing of designs and debugging /qualifying new high volume assembly /test equipment or tooling

  • Transferring knowledge to make site personnel

  • Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects and manufacturing costs

  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet our delivery requirements, and meet our cost targets

  • Evaluate Sensata’s and suppliers technical capabilities including tooling design, build experience, maintenance program, processes and process controls, cell automation- if required, quality control systems, and material knowledge

Experience / Qualifications

  • A college degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

General Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple project activities throughout the project lifecycle from the make site perspective, to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints

  • Acts as main representative of the make site in all project phases of new product development and change management projects and leads all launch-related activities

  • Coordinates the interaction between business, R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure all parallel launches follow the Sensata procedures for implementing changes and new products

  • Keeps track of all parallelly running launch projects in the make site and provides needed transparency to monitor progress and address issues as early as possible

  • Owns end-to-end every launch on the production floor and the connected sample builds

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to plan, develop and control scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for the needed launches

  • Apply change, risk and resource management

  • Resolves projects’ higher scope and prioritization issues

  • Assesses program strengths and identify areas for improvement

  • Ensures goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction and team member performance

  • Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved

  • Meets with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on conflicts

  • Produces accurate and timely reporting from make site perspective of program status throughout its life cycle

  • Analyzes program and launch risks

Experience / Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering/ business field

  • Proven track record in managing multiple, concurrent projects and driving their success

  • Proven track record in working with multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams across different time zones and technical fields

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bulgarian language across all levels of a multi-national company

  • Ability to create concise and clear senior-management reports and present them in professional manner

  • Ability to lead, motivate and drive successful multi-disciplinary teams without using hierarchical dependence

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
