The Sr. Software Engineer is a platform developer for our next generation Dash Camera Cloud Services. This advanced telematics platform will support our evolving AI technologies in Advanced Driver Assistance, Driver Monitoring, and multi-camera Live View with reliable and real time delivery of enriched vehicular data to 3rd party services and applications. The Sr. Software Engineer works as part of a solutions team practicing mature Agile-Scrum based feature development.

General Responsibilities

• Leads the design, implementation and deployment of highly scalable microservices into the cloud

• Adopt a culture of high-quality software development

• Handles difficult problems by offering pragmatic and practical solutions

• Develops and maintains technical documentation

• Ensure appropriate automated unit and integration test coverage of developed code

• Collaborates with other team members to establish best practices and maintainable processes

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

• Knowledge of cloud IaaS architecture and API development for IoT cloud PaaS and SaaS systems.

• Experience in developing real-time data or telematics services on Serverless Application Models (AWS Lambda) and/or container orchestration environments (e.g. AWS ECS).

• Infrastructure as a code development (AWS CloudFormation, CDK).

• Developing backend services using AWS SDKs in TypeScript, AWS RDS (MySQL, Postgres DB)

• Experience with AWS Services including API Gateway, Iot Core, Cognito, Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, S3, Elemental MediaConvert, Kinesis/Kinesis Video Streams, OpenSearch, Glue, SQS, SNS.
