An international position for an ambitious financial with excellent career perspective. We are looking for a Financial Controller for the main UK-activities of Sensata Technologies. He/She will manage and deliver all accounting, internal control, statutory and tax disclosure requirements for these main UK operations.
Together with your colleagues from other accounting teams, the financial shared service center, and other financial disciplines, you ensure internal and external financial reporting compliance. The accounting organization is in transition from traditional bookkeeping to state-of-the-art financial controlling. This means that in addition to compliance you are responsible for managing risks & opportunities and drive process improvement.
As the Financial Controller you will report in to EMEA Assistant Controller, who is also based in Hengelo.
Financial accounting of main UK operations together with various accounting teams, including the mentoring and development of the accounting staff
Ensure the monthly financial close of these main UK entities in accordance with US, UK GAAP and Sox compliance
Work collaboratively in business partnering with the wider UK and European finance organization (operations finance, business finance, shared service center) and other key stakeholders across the business
Assist with the financial integration of acquired entities
Collaborate with Corporate and Europe Accounting to develop and maintain accounting policies and internal control procedures to ensure proper accounting and identification of financial risks
Develop and improve balance sheet information and related metrics
Manage external financial audits and tax audits
Manage statutory reporting and tax reporting (US GAAP, UK GAAP, IFRS)
Maintain proper VAT accounting records & ensure the production of all VAT returns
Experience / Qualifications:
Relevant professional qualification (AA, RA), with experience at Big 4 strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience, ideally in a large, multinational, manufacturing company
Capability to translate complex accounting rules to day-to-day working practice
Knowledge and experience with US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS
Knowledge and experience with Hyperion and Oracle are an advantage
Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced, high energy environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Language skills: Near-native English
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
