Sensata Technologies, Inc. Core Regional Sales Lead Europe in Hengelo, Netherlands

The Core Regional Sales Lead manages a team of account managers & Global Account Owners (GAOs) supporting key EU customers with Core products. He is responsible for creating and executing a long-term regional strategy as well as following a tactical plan to achieve agreed targets. The Core Regional Sales Lead is an customer-focused expert in the automotive industry, who knows how to sell and achieve win-solution for Sensata and the customers. As such s/he will provide leadership and direction to the Core EU team.


General Responsibilities

  • Manages the execution of comprehensive sales plans to include product mix, pricing, forecasts, budgets, profit projections and all program details, for all existing and target customers

  • Books new business each year in keeping with corporate capabilities and profit objectives

  • Perform solution-based selling

  • Develops and communicates the appropriate “value proposition” for each major customer

  • Manages the development and distribution of marketing support requirements for Retail customers

  • Confirm packaging, displays, support sales material, & pricing recommendations

  • Attend trade shows and key customer events

  • Deliver training clinics

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and manage team of account managers and GAOs with analyzing information and prioritizing opportunities critical to accounts, giving direction also to application engineers

  • Ensure that we meet/exceed regional goals

  • Represent Sensata in management meetings with clients

  • Manages proposals, account or market plans, and forecast/report sales activity

  • Understands strategic business challenges and priorities. Implements, explains and translates global corporate strategy to his/her unit

  • Manage pipeline development

  • Manages professional sales coordination and account planning .Leads and drives entitlement progress

  • Develops and drives regional strategy, in conjunction with global GAO input (if applicable)

  • Drives customer relations

  • Drives team development

Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree level in Engineering/technical business administration

  • Minimum 7-10 years sales experience in the automotive market

  • Minimum first management experience. Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Profound understanding of and ideally existing network to main customers in Europe

  • Excellent communication skills, plus a high degree of self-motivation, self-organization and determination

  • A natural commercial attitude (ability to close a deal), a focus on contributing to the customer requirements and a drive to solve problems rather than report them

  • Ability to identify and implement win-win solutions at Sensata, customers and within his/her team

  • Commercial skills, negotiating skills, customer focus, presentation skills, understanding of future business potential and Sensata corporate strategy, understanding when to escalate

  • Fluency in English

  • Used to work towards tough commercial goals rather than daily micro-tasks

  • Willing to travel mainly within Europe
