Job Description Summary

Sensata Technologies, one of the world's leading suppliers of sensing, electrical protection, control and power management solutions, recently completed the acquisition of Spear Power Systems. The acquisition of Spear advances Sensata’s electrification portfolio and strategy into new clean energy markets and enables the Company to deliver more comprehensive energy storage solutions to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers in specialty transportation markets.

The ITAR Lead Technician position is responsible for the successful execution of assembly of Spear’s ITAR products, including production units, engineering concepts and prototypes,

  • Serve as the Lead Technician in the ITAR manufacturing and assembly of Spear products. Work collaboratively with other Lead Technicians.

  • Work with ITAR Manufacturing Manager to identify workflow, team member assignments, resource requirements, corrective action execution and team member work execution status and proficiency.

  • Draft, modify and maintain work instructions for assembly of Spear ITAR products, including production, prototype, and engineering units.

  • Assemble components and systems based upon drawings/schematics, models, work instructions, engineering direction and/or personal background and knowledge.

  • Provide feedback on design and product objectives; recommend manufacturability changes and highlight operational concerns.

  • Support and/or conduct testing on products under evaluation for potential use in Spear’s products, including those under development, draft test plan consistent with Spear testing protocol and higher-level procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality specifications and standards, regulatory requirements and health and safety practices.

  • Monitor plant performance recommend capital and/or process improvements to benefit overall efficiency of operations.

  • Contribute and implement the rolling strategic plan for Operations.

  • Contribute to development of the business by delivering stable processes and products.

  • Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience in improving standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001:2008, etc.) within manufacturing.

  • Experience in supply chain management (including expediting, lead-time reduction, inventory management, packaging, and shipping.)

  • Experience in the manufacture of energy storage solutions preferred.

  • Experience with and highly skilled with standard benchtop equipment, including power supplies, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, DC programmable loads, soldering equipment and hand tools.

  • Experience successfully leading teams.

  • Experience with production reporting and performing to meet metrics.

This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must: (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident (i.e., "green card holder") of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, provided that you have applied for naturalization within six months of the date you first became eligible, and if not yet accepted, you are actively pursuing naturalization after two years from the date of your application
