Sensata Technologies, Inc. Software Design Engineer in Changzhou, China

The Software Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of computer software to implement various internal software packages relating directly to electrical engineering requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with developing complex software in selected languages for Sensata products and/or applications consistently following Sensata’s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes

  • Key participant in the development of software to control external hardware for automated test equipment and other applicable development

  • Organizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process

  • Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionality as part of a software project

  • Organizes participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

We are seeking enthusiastic and creative ASIC Software Engineers to provide expert guidance to Sensata Research & Development personnel, management and commercial people, in the skill area of ASIC Software.

Main duties will include:

  • Responsibility for creating specifications from customer and hardware requirements documentation

  • Develop the required detail around the software specification working alongside systems, hardware and production engineers as well as customers.

  • Develop the customer specific application software

  • Develop test harnesses to simulate software.

  • Apply expert knowledge to resolve complex technical situations effectively and quickly.

  • Assist with and take ownership of software process development.

  • Provide support to other teams such as production, product support and quality

  • The candidate will be responsible for developing customer specific application software for that embedded microprocessor.

  • Although part of the Sensor Design team, work will extend to cover all ASIC software activities as the need arises in any other team or department. You will be responsible for creating specifications from customer and hardware requirements documentation working alongside systems, hardware and production engineers as well as customers.

Candidate Qualification

  • Candidate must possess a degree in computer science or electrical engineering & 5 years industrial experience in a software design role.

  • The candidate should be familiar with C language for embedded software development

  • The candidate should be aware or have experience in all stages of the software lifecycle/processes and have good analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of digital and analogue electronic circuitry is desirable. The candidate will also need to develop test harnesses to simulate software well so design/test experience using VHDL is also desirable.

  • Candidate should have strong team sprite and good communication skill

  • Candidate should be good at English in both written and oral.
