Sensata Technologies, Inc. Hardware Engineer in Changzhou, China

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Sensata, you will be tasked to work as an expert within a dedicated and talented engineering team. Key platform product development will be assigned. This will involve analyzing customer requirements, defining the hardware architecture, conducting validation and creating documentation packages etc to ensure delivering world class products to our global customers. In addition and very importantly, as an internal expert, this position should be influential, a role model of technical-focus and a key reviewer of technical design review.

JD:

1. Lead the platform product development. Analyze customer requirements. Interface with customer, and internal cross functional teams. Develop cost estimates, plans, and schedules for new projects.

2. Design digital/analog circuit, select electrical components, Draft schematics and PCB components layout, Perform circuit calculation and simulation, Conduct debugging and electrical system functional verification.

3. Deliver engineering documents on time and on quality per development procedure: Hardware requirement specification, DFMEA, Worst Case analysis, Hardware thermal event analysis, HSI, HMI, Drawing, and DVP&R etc.

4. Be influential and the role model in EE team on technical-focus. Be the key reviewer on team design review.

5. Own EMC analysis, testing, and development optimization.

6. Organize and attend the Global / Local technical review meeting.

7. Support FuSa development according to ISO26262.

JR:

1. Major in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with bachelor or above degree.

2. Had 5 or above years hardware development working experience, working experience in control product (VCU, BMS, Power control unit etc.) is preferred.

3. Strong and deep experience on both analog and digital circuit design. Be familiar with multi layers PWB / PWA layout, skillful either one of these tools: Mentor /Cadence etc.;

4. Experience in embedded system design with Microchip, Arm, or other type MCU or DSP. Master different protocols (LIN, SENT, CAN, SPI, IIC etc.).

5. Deep understanding of hardware development procedure and deliverables. Strong knowhow on DFMEA.

6. Comfortable in a lab environment using test equipment such as Oscilloscope, or others to characterize and analyze electrical circuits.

7. Good written and oral English skills. Can accept English as working language.

8. Experience in ISO26262 is plus.

9. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

10. Great ownership, attitude, and self-motivation.

General Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops equipment, processes and systems that include, but are not limited to data networks, communications, and display

  • Analyzes equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design

  • Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspectives

  • Consult with research engineers or scientists and customer representatives to resolve design problems

  • Ensures compliance with technical procedures, documentation and manuals

  • Reviews the work of technicians and technologists who provide technical support

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
