Job Description

The Quality Engineer will provide engineering support as it relates to all customer concerns for the assigned accounts. He/She will be the liaison between customer and the company and therefore be the voice of the Customer for all quality/reliability issues and strive to ensure product meets and exceeds customer requirements.


  • Failure analysis/root cause investigation of all external product failures and proper documentation of the complete corrective action in 8D format

  • Generate and maintain up-to-date APQP and PPAP documentation such as Flow diagrams, PFMEA and Control Plans

  • Revise and design inspection methods, process, tools and inspection gauges

  • Apply SPC methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes as well as to monitor critical processes to ensure product quality is maintained and/or improved

  • Customer related KPI's monitoring, coordinate and implement projects to correct or improve this metrics

  • Train technician and line personnel on quality related process changes/implementations and inspection and testing activities

  • Lead/participate on customer and supplier audits

  • Internal collaboration with Program/Product Managers, Design Engineering, Process Engineering and Marketing as well as Purchasing and Supply Chain

  • External collaboration with Customers and Component/Equipment suppliers



  • A university degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent) or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent)

  • Strong Organizational/Time Management skills

  • Prior Quality or Process Engineering experience in Automotive Industry

  • Design and manufacturing processes hi level knowledge

  • SPC knowledge (application and data interpretation)

  • Lean manufacturing tools knowledge

  • GD&T, metrology lab tools and equipment usage and application knowledge

  • QM Systems knowledge (ISO9001 and ISO/TS16949)

  • QA software (Minitab or similar)

  • Solid Works or similar CAD software (desired)
