Apply mechanical engineering tools and concepts to design, develop and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment for new and existing products
Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
Continuously improve process through-put, cost effectiveness and process quality as part of operation excellence (yield, productivity, OEE, Poka-yoke, ppm)
Perform root-cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions through product, process, and tooling design changes
Use test data analysis to diagnose complex product performance and production challenges
Assure product and process quality by testing process capabilities and confirming manufacturing processes
Establish and maintain process documentation including WI / FMEA / control plan / process flow / SOP and provide training to mfg line personnel
Collaborate with design engineering and quality engineering to resolve product performance issues
Establish, document, and communicate robust processes and DOE (design of experiments) results
Executing engineering sample builds to support new product development activities
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering degree or related discipline and 1-3 years of related experience
3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
Good knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE
Demonstrated ability to solve engineering challenges using methodical scientific methods and documenting results
Knowledge of electrical function testing and electromechanical device calibration is desired but not mandatory
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Able to work under pressure and manage competing demands and deadlines
Well organized and detailed oriented
Ability to identify and correct problems using structured problem solving
Ability to manage ambiguity
Strong planning and organization skills
Ability to positively influence and build relationships with global team members
Proficient with MS Office programs
Demonstrated hands-on ability using basic hand tools, test and measuring equipment
