Sensata’s products improve safety, efficiency, emissions and comfort for millions of people every day in transportation, appliance, aircraft, and industrial applications. Now, through this latest acquisition, Sensata and PRECO Electronics are working together to expand capabilities and product portfolio in heavy duty vehicles. Sensata is currently looking for a passionate and talented Senior engineer to work with our team on developing advanced radar systems for heavy vehicle and off-road autonomy applications.
Sensata’s Radar Systems Engineers work closely with the radar development team and will be involved in all aspects of the product development design life cycle - from requirements capture and definition, architectural design, feature definition, test and verification, and release to customers.
Translating requirements into system architectures and feature definition
Developing system, algorithm and software verification test requirements and supporting the test team on data collection, processing, analysis, and validation
Interface with product with all disciplines of radar product development team leading the overall system requirements management and system architecture
Develop test plans and lead team on data collection, data processing and analysis
Provide critical input on radar signal processing and algorithm development
Lead interface with internal and external customers on new business opportunities and on significant technical matters
Promote positive disruption to challenge the status quo and encourage an environment of continuous improvement and learning
Provide technical leadership and guidance to coach, mentor and motivate team members
Specific Experience and Skills Required:
Ability to develop design documentation, software/firmware requirements
Thorough understanding of FMCW radar systems
Radar systems; requirements definition for radar measurement performance, object detection, tracking, perception, classification
Outstanding data analysis skills
6-10+ years’ experience in system engineering with minimum of 3 years on radar systems
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and with customers
Expert use of requirements and system development tools (ie. Jama, Jira, etc…)
BS Degree in Engineering or other technical degree (mathematics, physics, computer science..)
Desired Background and Skills:
Experience with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
Familiarity with Automotive SPICE
mmWave RF experience
Familiarity with Functional Safety Product development (ISO 26262)
MATLAB/Python development experience
C/C++ development experience
Experience with radar waveform development, MIMO and other radar application methods
Detailed understanding of autonomous systems or software concepts including sensor fusion, mapping, and localization
Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques
