Core products include vehicle electronic control systems, electronic joysticks, multi-function grips, and electronic displays. We currently have a need for a self-motivated individual that enjoys a fast paced and challenging environment, to join our Engineering Team.

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team regarding various software programs, databases and coding. Provides oversight on the design and development of software applications. Ensures that each process is completed efficiently, and that the proper analyses are being performed with the software.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage the software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools

  • Handle the development of software and software tools used for design, infrastructure, and platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, and databases

  • Manage the hardware compatibility and/or hardware design

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Communication with customers to understand new applications and programs. Relays how Sensata technology and portfolio can be designed/customized to meet their needs

  • Leverage of engineering fundamentals and organization to make sound decisions on complex technical issues

  • Detailed understanding of market and implications for business

  • Conduct presentations in meetings with updates on technical information with specifics on projects/schedules and timelines

  • Understanding customer requirements and expectations, and developing/driving actions and schedules needed to support those program expectations

  • Maintaining interactions with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

  • Competitive analysis (benchmarking patent research, cost estimates etc.) and applying learning for product improvement and business opportunities

  • Management of software knowledge base and development of best practices.

  • Communication and collaboration with international members of development teams.

Additional Experience / Qualification:

  • 2-5 years product development experience preferably automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, embedded software for devices, desktop-based or mobile diagnostic software, software architecture, software development tools, and/or functional safety.
