The Computer Operations Specialist is responsible for working on the lifecycle of large and complex projects, and collaborating with the user in order to achieve success, through a track record of professionalism and excellence in all aspects of the experience.


General Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks, that are commonly associated with operating a computer in accordance with detailed instructions

  • Leads the coordination of bringing on-site desktop support to business for help with PC Hardware/software needs

  • Develops and communicates technical, systems and application standards and ensures compliance with existing standards

  • Maintains systems documentation for testing and validation

  • Performs post-implementation support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems

  • Works with vendors to analyze and troubleshoot solutions

  • Identify new solutions and services for the desktop support team that align with business objectives

  • Trains fellow desktop administrators in organizational processes

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Participate in integration design and deployment of Sensata IT systems and practices in newly acquired companies in the US region

  • Provide tier 3 level support for client services including PC operating systems, software applications and IT systems and supporting manufacture environments

  • Provide tier 2 level support for servers, telephone systems, network equipment, and printers

  • Continuously evaluate IT incident management process, contribute to process improvement initiatives, risk analysis and remediation planning

  • Continuously evaluate Service Management tools to ensure that they are configured to meet the requirements of defined process and procedure

  • Contribute to projects by helping define success criteria and teaming with involved parties throughout project life cycle

  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of IT support documentation

Job Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge in analytical methods and practices as well as ability to conduct analyses of problems and/or issues affecting the network and recommend approaches and procedures in resolution of multifaceted IT problems

  • Strong comprehension and understanding of business needs as well as service and technical implications

  • Experience supporting multiple local and remote sites

  • Understanding of IP/ Ethernet/ WAN based Networks

  • Knowledge of best practices pertaining to Service Provider/ Enterprise LAN/ WAN designs networking background

  • Broad line of Cisco network devices including different models of switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, ACS and VoIP solutions.

  • Understanding of Windows DNS, knowledge of different DNS record types and ability to identify and implement Microsoft best practices as they relate to global AD deployment.

  • Experience using Powershell, Bash, or Python for automating frequent tasks

  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory administration and architecture design. Must be proficient in AD and be able to diagnose issues using tools

  • Excellent relationship management skills; strong customer service orientation

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a high-volume work driven environment

  • Must be a quick learner, and largely self-sufficient with minimal oversight

Additional Job Description

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology

  • At least 8 years related tier 3 support experience

  • At least 3 years in a corporate environment and/or consulting organization

  • At least 3 years supporting remote locations

  • Available for to up to 25% travel within the US
