Sensata Technologies, Inc. Supply and Inventory Planning Manager Auto in Bergkirchen, Germany

This function supports the deployment of world class SIOP processes with regards to Planning, Execution and Inventory Management. He/she will have full responsibility for supply and inventory planning, hence be a crucial part of the Sensata SIOP integration with the expectation to drive functional excellence, continuous improvement and establish state of the art process & standards. He/she must understand end-to-end Supply Chain Management, be able to manage MRP and drive for the right decisions in executing to an aligned manufacturing plan. The candidate is expected to execute inventory deployment and optimization in alignment with business goals and objectives. This position will rely heavily on Operational Excellence techniques in order to improve processes and remove waste within our organization. Sensata is leading a transformation of our SIOP organization that includes global alignment to common processes, and deployment of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) Solutions. The candidate is expected to help lead the organization through this change.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day supply chain activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, and timeliness of the organization's supply chain

  • Manage and monitor all supply chain activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers

  • Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs

  • Suggest solutions for process improvements and implement solutions in a timely manner

  • Liaise with functional and operational area managers to ensure ensure supply chain strategies are integrated with other parts of the business

  • Organize and oversee inventory by keeping a detailed database of available inventory and expected usage per project

  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to minimize costs and ensure satisfactory standards of service

  • Manage and develop staff to ensure resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Responsibilities:

  • Lead 5-6 global Product Family Supply & Inventory Management Planners (SIM) directly

  • Lead the local Plant Supply Chain Planners in 7 international Automotive production sites dotted

  • Facilitate and consolidate manufacturing and supply plans to manage and project Inventory, backlog / delinquency development and net revenue with the related BU

  • Define governance process involving all parts of the Supply Chain organization, with the understanding that it has ownership of transforming inventory management culture

  • Manage global sites Supply & Demand balancing using MPS and other tools and techniques

  • Ensures the overall supply chain process integrity by balancing the products lifecycle, multi-stage and finish goods inventory, E&O and the revenue forecasts

  • Set-up inventory targets (DoH entitlement), monitor development and control E&O and MRB for the DCs globally

  • Initiate and lead cross-functional Continuous Improvement activities aligned with industry best practices to improve process efficiencies throughout the Supply Chain with focus on planning, allocation, site balancing and inventory management

  • Develop standardized processes and training plans for key participants in the Supply planning process

  • Work closely with the global process owners from the Corporate SIOP team

  • Identify and execute programs to improve inventory efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA or Masters in related field preferred)

  • 10+ years of international experience within Supply Chain, Operations Planning or Material Planning and Logistics preferably at a Tier1 Automotive supplier

  • Demonstrated experience driving to on time delivery, quality and cost

  • Know-how in Planning & Scheduling (Master Production Scheduling) and Materials Management

  • Proven experience with Lean, continuous improvement tools and methodologies with quantifiable business results

  • Ideal candidate brings both, site and shop floor experience, paired with central / corporate multi-site roles

  • Proven track record of inventory optimization over complex supply chains

  • Experienced in working within complex matrix environment and management through influence

  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills

  • Change-agent who has proven skills in serving multiple stakeholders and driving transformation

  • Strong skills in managing to target, leading teams, and executing to plan and deliver results

  • Strong data analytics, reporting and project management skills and experienced in ERP/MRP systems, Advanced Planning Systems, BI reporting and tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple countries and different layers in the organization

Additional Details:

Our sites which are supplying the Automotive industry are based in following countries:

Malaysia, China, Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Mexico

Our European Distribution center is based in Germany

Position will be based in either Bergkirchen, Germany or Attleboro, United States

Travel 15-25%
