Sensata Technologies, Inc. Automotive Aftermarket Global Catalogue Manager in Bergkirchen, Germany

The Product Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning of a product portfolio and provide operational support for existing products. The role requires the ability to develop roadmaps on new and existing products that align with the company’s strategic, operational, and financial objectives.


General Responsibilities

  • Develop application and interchange data through OEM and competitor research. Determine correct level of application granularity for each sensor type, e.g. whole vehicle, trim level, engine level, etc

  • Electronically map all data to regional standards e.g Auto Care Association in North America and TecDoc elsewhere globally and provide output in required format for customers and partners, e.g. ACES, PIES, etc

  • Select and manage third party vendors and partners used to convey catalogue information

  • Provide custom catalogue files and reports as required by customers and Automotive Aftermarket sales and marketing teams

  • Manage team of catalogue data analysts and interns, as required, in order to effectively maintain Automotive Aftermarket database. This includes all training and development requirements within the team and any standard instructions or guidelines to be followed

  • Provide regular “holes” reports and action plans to close out

  • Work with Automotive Aftermarket IT team to continuously automate data entry and verification and improve sources and accuracy of information

  • Attend industry related conferences and events as well as customer seminars for the purpose of increasing knowledge, improving data deliverables and staying current with industry standards, trends and specific customer requirements

  • Support Sales and Marketing Teams with OEM application and competitive interchange information, coverage and gap analysis along with current and future sales potential

  • Regular participation in team meetings and calls including preparation and delivery of regular data

  • Close engagement with sales team to ensure consistent pricing across products and regions

  • Liaise with legal, contract and compliance teams where necessary

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Proven track record of dealing with customers in person and over the phone

  • The ability to work effectively with other team members while continuing to improve and support processes and effective transfer of product knowledge

  • Travel to make sites, customers and remote offices required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall team/departmental strategy

  • Keep abreast of the latest innovations and developments

  • Ensure compliance at all times with company and statutory requirements

  • Participate in the day-to-day activities of the team and work effectively as a team member to ensure continuous improvement

  • Meet performance measures and KPI’s set for you and your team

  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with members of your team and other parts of the business

  • Participate in training opportunities

  • Work as a member of a team helping to implement and carry out all company working practices and Health, Safety and Environmental procedures

  • Comply with all Sarbox controls throughout the organization and understand and meet the key controls that are directly related to your day to day functions

  • Carry out any other function necessary for the smooth running of the Department.


Job requirements will include the following:

  • Proven track record of dealing with customers in person and over the phone.

  • The ability to work effectively with other team members while continuing to improve support processes and effective transfer of product knowledge.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Competently operate Microsoft office programs and bespoke databases.

Specific Experience/Qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a catalogue management role in an Automotive Aftermarket company or 6 years’ experience in a non- automotive based sensor technology company would be desirable

  • Additionally, candidates with 6+ years’ experience in a catalogue management role in an Automotive Aftermarket company would be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
