Sensata Technologies, Inc. Welding Setup Operator in Attleboro, Massachusetts

Welding Setup Operators are responsible for a variety of administrative/physical tasks involved in the production of subassemblies for use on the assembly line. Tasks such as set up or set up and operation of welding machines or presses to produce metal products or assemblies, according to work instructions and or blueprints to meet production schedule requirements to the high-quality standard expected by Sensata Technologies.

Essential Functions:

  • Sets-up and operates welding machines and presses that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies

  • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines

  • Prepares and adjusts fixtures or nests to produce parts per specification

  • Verifies assemblies using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers

  • Cleans and maintains workpieces and welding machine parts, using hand tools and equipment

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing o industrial setting preferred

  • Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines

  • Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints

  • Ability to follow proper safety protocols

  • Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates

  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and blueprints, as well as comprehend verbal instructions and effectively communicate verbally

  • Computer familiarity, data entry skills

  • Ability to self-start yet take orders as directed

  • Possess strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work well as a team

  • Ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit or stand as required to perform essential functions

  • Consistent and punctual attendance required. Must be available to work assigned shifts and required overtime

  • Must be eligible for ITAR clearance
