Sensata Technologies, Inc. Warranty Manager Auto North America in Attleboro, Massachusetts
Sensata’s North America Automotive business seeks a Warranty Manager to improve Sensata’s warranty performance and minimize the financial impact of customer warranty claims to Sensata’s P&L. This person will manage a small team of Warranty Analysts supporting these goals.
Key aspects of this Role
Forecast, track, manage, and minimize warranty claims to protect business performance. Act as the “project manager” for significant claims. This includes interfacing with internal and external parties, including direct negotiations with customers to achieve Sensata business objectives.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the warranty processes of the largest North American automotive customers; capable navigating these processes to Sensata’s benefit.
Act as a strong leader to the Warranty Analyst team by providing guidance, feedback, and coaching.
Develop solutions to complex customer warranty contracts and/or claims to negotiate the best financial outcome for Sensata while maintaining customer r elationships.
Continuously adjust the warranty and claim process to anticipate changing and increasing customer warranty requirements.
Review and negotiate warranty contracts for new and existing customers.
Establish Supplier Warranty Recovery Process and Organization for Spills.
Keep General Manager informed of results, risks, and opportunities.
Responsible for the sharing and implementation of best practices across all business units.
The successful candidate:
Is comfortable working in both details and “the big picture”.
Has strong negotiation skills to manage responses to customer claims effectively and maintain strong customer relationships.
Is persistent, creative, and committed to achieving beneficial outcomes for Sensata during difficult warranty claim negotiations.
Experience / Qualifications
Engineering degree and 5-10 years of experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality and/or warranty, and good knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO 9000 / TS16949 / VDA 6.3 / AIAG APQP)
Experienced with AIAG: APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP and SPC.
Strong financial acumen in relation to claim management and financial reserves management
Strong problem-solving skills (8D / 5Why / Fishbone)
Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong English communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
