Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Manager, Contracts in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Sr. Manager, Contracts oversees the negotiating, structuring, and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors, customers and/or partners. Reviews and approves documents for protection of the company's contractual posture and adherence to company policy. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.

General Responsibilities

  • Completes audits of any contract documents to ensure compliance and protection of the companies contractual posture, adherence to company policy and satisfaction of all specifications

  • Prepares and negotiates any government related contracts

  • Maintains and develops of the companies contract management program

  • Managesthe contract preparation including the development and negotiation of proposals

  • Manages the appropriate documentation that is required and enter it into corporate databases in a timely manner

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 7-10 years of experience

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

The Sr. Manager, Contracts is responsible for establishing BU systems and processes to enable risk reduction and efficient commercial processes within the BU relative to contracts.

General Responsibilities

  • Establish systems to ensure efficient commercial processes within the BU, and to provide recommendations to reduce contract and other risks.

  • Ensure all Contracts are reviewed by all impacted teams and that Sensata is in compliance

  • Understand and define our obligations and ensure compliance with government, industry, and Sensata regulations/policies

  • Ensure compliance across automotive for contract management BU

  • Establish and lead effective contract management implementation process

  • Manage communication across automotive regions and functions to ensure we are meeting Sensata and customer expectations

  • Establish tracking and storage system for BU contracts

  • Manage Auto communication with Sensata’s Legal team to ensure efficient exchanges and alignment between organizations

  • Negotiate commercial terms for all new contracts to ensure business case and strategic plan execution, as well as compliance with requirements established by Sensata’s Legal team and Delegation of Authority

  • Ensure compliance with existing contracts

  • Assist with reinforcing contract terms vs customer claims or customer behavior contrary to terms

  • Provide training for BU and others to ensure understanding and improve our ability to comply with contract terms and government regulations.

  • Draft, evaluate, propose and negotiate alternative terms taking into account both the needs and expectations of our customers while minimizing our business risk and meeting our corporate objectives

  • Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness

  • Analyze and report on specific risks associated with contract. Propose new verbiage and agreements to help navigate the business as we engage with new customers and product platforms

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 6+ years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 2-4years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
