Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Attleboro, Massachusetts
Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (EE), be a technical leader on a project team working on Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, and capacitive and strain-gauge based sensors. We are looking for people with the knowledge, skills, and drive to create new and novel sensing solutions. Projects will provide frequent opportunities for collaboration in cross functional team environments as we work together to solve design and process problems and create lasting solutions.
Defines the design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development
Leads the development of architecture design, logic design, and system simulation
Advises on the module interfaces/formats for simulation
Advises on the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits
Advises on all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use
Leads the analysis of equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results
Reviews vendor capability to support development.
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree and 6+ years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 2-4years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Identify and document requirements for off the shelf IC selection and custom ASIC development. Work with IC vendors to develop and qualify custom IC solutions. Support sensor teams in working with new ICs and help standardize the ASIC development process. Provide innovative and thoughtful support and ideas to our department and ASIC development process while handling problems that are not fully defined and require creative judgement.
Design new circuits and signal processing algorithms to enhance sensor performance, apply statistical methods to data analysis, and educate customers on product capabilities. You will also be responsible for electrical product design tasks from concept to production including electrical schematics, component selection with performance, quality, & cost trade-off analysis, prototype build, design verification & qualification testing, and test automation. Use your knowledge and learning to provide decisions and recommendations that impact our products and generate lasting knowledge.
Provide technical leadership that will contribute to project management decisions including technology selection, development and unit costs estimation, task scheduling and critical path management. You will be expected to advise, interpret and influence on complex issues both internally and externally with customers and vendors. You will be challenged as an individual technical contributor and have opportunities to use your leadership skills to direct the activities of other engineers as a project lead. You will be expected to anticipate challenges and develop approaches to resolve them without considerable direction.
