In addition to supporting our strong core business, the Ventures Organization of the CTO Office is working and investing in three major megatrends for our future growth: (a) Electrification, which includes areas such as Electric Vehicle (EV) technology, Battery technology and Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and intelligent Energy Management Systems (EMS); (b) Autonomy, which includes areas such as perception sensing technologies (e.g. 4D imaging radar), driver assistance, and autonomous vehicles; and (c) Internet of Things (IoT), which leverages our smart and connected sensors and market position to offer IoT Edge and Cloud solutions and data insights in areas such as connected cars, Heavy Vehicles and Off-Road (HVOR), and Industrial IoT (IIoT) applications.
The CTO Office provides the technical leadership to support our Business Units (BUs) and the new growth initiatives of the Sensata Ventures organization. It is responsible for defining the technologies and engineering processes and for providing the technical expertise and support to assist the BUs engineering teams throughout the company to create industry-leading quality and performance products.

This position is the most senior technical leader of the CTO Office team in the area of Product Security and Privacy, including processes, technologies and related product hardware, software, and system architectures, design, and implementations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Provides technical leadership to the BU product development teams in all aspects of security and privacy throughout the full product lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, implementation, deployment, operations, maintenance, support)
Collaborates with BU business, product, and technical leaders and participates in select customer meetings to ensure that customer security and compliance requirements are captured and included in the design and implementation of all products
Defines the appropriate product security and privacy processes, frameworks, and standards to support the company’s business needs
Leads the adoption of a culture of security and privacy “by design” throughout the company’s product development teams, through best practices, education, processes, tools, methodologies and governance
Drives best practices in security in both embedded product and cloud/application-based architectures.
Works with the product development teams to continuously conduct risk assessments to understand the threats, define mitigations, monitor field deployments, and plan for incident response related to existing and new use cases of our product offerings
Creates and leads data governance processes to ensure the privacy and protection of our customers’ data that is created and/or collected by our products, systems, and services
Leads and conducts Architecture and Technical reviews, Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Security Risk Assessments (SRA), Privacy Impact Analyses (PIA), and other formal reviews related to the security and privacy of the company’s products
Maintains an ongoing awareness of information security, vulnerabilities, and threats to support product creation and risk management decisions
Participates in the overall Corporate Security and Privacy governance and contributes to long-term strategic initiatives related to Security and Privacy within the company
As part of the overall Corporate Security and Privacy processes, leads the analysis and response to any potential security incidents related to the company’s products
15+ years of proven, hands-on track-record as an engineer in complex software products, systems, and services, 10+ of which should be related to security and privacy engineering roles, 5+ of which as a leader of a security and privacy function
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering field is required, an advanced degree is desirable
Hands-on strong technical expertise in hardware and software security, IoT security, embedded systems security, cloud-computing security, network security and related protocols, PKI, data protection, Identity Management systems, complex authentication and authorization flows, threat analysis
Hands-on extensive experience in the creation, execution, and governance of security and privacy best practices, processes, tools and methodologies
Deep understanding of the full IoT stack, internet services, cloud computing technologies, and related security risks and mitigations
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations
