Sensata is seeking a talented finance leader for a newly formed and fast growing fleet telematics business unit Sensata Insights. The Senior Director of Finance, Sensata Insights is a high-impact role providing financial leadership, P&L oversight, and strategic support to the Insights business. This leader will be responsible for building a financial operating cadence to ensure performance to commitment, as well as for establishing forecasting processes, and partnering with the accounting organization in the roll-out of a subscription-based revenue engine.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of operating as a finance leader to help businesses achieve growth and profit targets.

The Senior Director of Finance’s primary function will be as the Finance Business Partner to the General Manager for the Insights business, and will own financial planning & analysis for this fast growing business segment. They will have financial P&L responsibility and will develop processes within the organization, creating and implementing policies increase efficiency and transparency of results.

This role will be based in Attleboro, MA and will report directly to the Group CFO, Sensing Solutions, and dotted line to the General Manager, Sensata Insights.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Partner with General Manager to set financial goals and deliver performance to commitment

  • Facilitate key monthly business operating reviews to help drive execution of financial plan as well as longer-term strategy

  • Prepare presentation materials for the annual operating plan and monthly/quarterly updates for the CES business and be able to lead discussion regarding business and financial performance, key value and profit drivers, market outlook, and business risk and opportunities.

  • Provide the General Manager with actionable insights and analysis to define, measure and deliver strategic growth objectives and to ensure return on investment

  • Cost rationalization to drive efficient Insights organization, including responsible cost management and productivity in Engineering, R&D and SG&A functions

  • Possess a strong understanding of cost of revenue drivers with objective of partnering with the operations team to deliver increased operating efficiency and productivity that align with the business strategy.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to identify opportunities for profitability improvement customer, sales, marketing, pricing/mix, new product

  • Work with General Manager to evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities

  • Provide financial review and approval on quotes for new business, ensuring rigor in revenue and margin projections and that new business profile aligns to long-term strategic imperatives

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience, with demonstrated career progression and business partnering skills, including 3+ years of P&L ownership

  • Experience communicating with and presenting to senior management

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to influence in a matrixed organization, regardless of reporting lines

  • Broad business and financial acumen

  • Experience working with a large ERP system, Oracle preferred

  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP

  • Proficiency with Microsoft excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong work ethic, sense of ownership and accountability


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop KPIs and metrics for operating the annual recurring revenue (SaaS) elements of the Insights business within Sensata

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior experience with SaaS or other recurring revenue models is a plus, but not required
