The Revenue &Technical Accounting Director will serve as the Company’s lead internal expert on all matters and transactions that present unique or unusual accounting considerations. This role will often assist business and functional leaders by providing practical guidance on the accounting implications of proposed transactions. The Revenue & Technical Accounting Director will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will manage a team of two direct reports.

General Responsibilities
Supports organization financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations and directing staff
Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
Establishes accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change
Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information, and advising departments on the collection and analysis of data
Enforce the correct accounting policies, methods and principles
Streamline systems and processes and initiate corrective actions when necessary
Create and sustain fiscal records and other files to accurately document transactions
Planning, organizing and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors
Directs and oversees activities of team to ensure priorities and deliverables are met
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities/ Requirements
Responsibilities:
Accounting for derivative, debt, and equity transactions (e.g., SBC expense, debt re-financings)
Accounting for investments (e.g., equity method, marketable securities, etc.)
Accounting for pension and OPEB plans
Accounting for business combinations
Reviewing goodwill and other intangible assets for impairment risk
Reviewing customer contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment
Performing due diligence on M&A targets
Preparing technical whitepapers to support complex accounting positions
Working with external auditors to support internal accounting positions
Reviewing certain Corporate entity account reconciliations and rollforwards
Collaborating with operations, business, finance, tax, IT, and other department leaders
Assisting with the preparation and review of 10-Q and 10-K filings
Requirements:
8-12 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or similar role in industry
CPA
Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 815
Exceptional writing skills
Experience working in or for a multinational publicly traded company
Experience with complex revenue arrangements, including SaaS
Experience with and understanding of ERP systems
Strong analytical, technical, communication and organizational skills
Able to present key financial information to business leaders in a clear and concise manner
Attention to detail and problem solving abilities
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with demanding stakeholders
