Sensata Technologies, Inc. Oracle EBS Data Conversion Specialist in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Oracle EBS Data Conversion Specialist should provide support for day-to-day and new development activities for all ORACLE EBS related systems and interface points. This position will require interaction with both internal and external customers, high level management and coordination of activities with our 3rd-party provider(s).

General Responsibilities

  • Advises on the analysis of complex business problems to create solutions with automated systems

  • Leads the process of identifying of gaps and providing technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scales new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost effective manner

  • Advises on the system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements

  • Designs details of automated systems

  • Provides consultation to users in the area of automated systems

  • Leads cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues

  • Client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and Outsourcing functions

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree and 6+ years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 2-4years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)

The Data conversion Analyst is responsible for the conversion of client data from various legacy systems into ORACLE ERP and related systems. This conversion specialist collaborates with project management, Project stake holders and other Project Business team members (“expert users”) internally, as well as the subcontracted specialist resources responsible to create data extracts from Legacy systems. The Analyst must be able to analyze extracted data, from prescribed formatted templates and map it into ORACLE data requirements to meet business expectations, working with the business expert users. Additionally, the data conversion specialist must be able to effectively communicate Sensata data requirements with the project team and perform necessary steps to achieve a successful data conversion. The specialist is expected to execute each conversion with high quality, consistent, on-time results.

The ideal candidate has a background in data analysis, is detail oriented, has solid programming experience, understands ODBC connectivity, relational databases and has data conversion experience, including Unix Shell scripting, Open interface, PL/SQL programming, Oracle EBS Functional knowledge and interdependencies.

The candidate must be able to manage his/her own project assignments, communicate verbally and in writing effectively internally and across Sensata project teams and leadership.

The analyst owns the data conversion development life-cycle and methodology. This includes requirements solution design, Business acceptance, timeline creation, implementation, unit testing, deployment tools, and maintenance. Individuals with creativity and an eye for efficiency through automation are highly desired.

The ideal candidate will have sound experience in data conversion process for M&A, including strong technical background and understanding of ORACLE EBS/ERP and Database management, SQL programming and scripting, use of API and other mass update tools for data.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine, evaluate, design, develop, revise, and maintain SQL scripts, code, and queries for data translation and reporting

  • Gather and translate business requirements for validation

  • Generate ad-hoc extracts as needed

  • Work with other Data Conversion team members to prepare and deliver SQL code, recommendations, or alternatives for improving conversion programs

  • Assembling relevant data for specific projects and assist with pre-processing or basic data analysis.

  • Create project timelines and communicate with project team members to assess progress of deliverables from conception to completion.

  • Managing multiple projects and effectively communicating status updates with internal stakeholders.

  • Communication of inefficiencies and/or recommendations for existing process changes in a tactful and effective manner
