Sensata Technologies, Inc. Millimeter Wave Antenna Design Engineer in Attleboro, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

Sensata Technologies, a global industrial technology company and a leading provider of sensors, recently completed the acquisition of PRECO Electronics. Sensata’s products improve safety, efficiency, emissions and comfort for millions of people every day in transportation, appliance, aircraft, and industrial applications. Now, through this latest acquisition, Sensata and PRECO Electronics are working together to expand capabilities and product portfolio in heavy duty vehicles.

This engineering position will provide technical expertise in the design and development of mm wave antenna structures. This includes the design and development of various PCB based antenna structures for use in radar-based sensing systems. The role is part of the product development team and will work alongside other product development team members to address all aspects of designing and developing systems.

Desired Background:

  • Experience with antenna design in the 76-81 GHz frequency band

  • Experience with PCB patch array antenna design

  • Experience with HFSS or CST simulation packages

  • Solid understanding of electromagnetics, antennas, transmission lines, and matching circuits

  • Experience in design verification and validation, including design reviews, anechoic chamber testing, etc

  • Ability to perform measurements of S-parameters, antenna radiation patterns and other RF parameters

  • Understanding of PCB fabrication and limitations

  • Background in circuit design and development

  • Experience with schematic capture and board design

  • Background in millimeter wave rf system design and development

  • Ability to work and communicate well in a small team environment is a must

Job Duties/Expectations:

  • Design and development of electronics-based products in the 24 81 GHz range

  • 5+ years of experience in antenna design

  • May travel up to 10-20% as needed

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering
