Sensata Technologies, Inc. Global Segment Marketing Director (Industrial) in Attleboro, Massachusetts

Given Sensata’s growth ambitions to expand our competitive edge, and our leadership position in our industrial end markets, we are seeking a Global Segment Marketing leader to identify new growth markets, expand existing markets and create proposals and strategies for optimizing and executing on those opportunities. Our Industrial business develops solutions for a variety of end markets around Smart Buildings, Smart Factories, and Clean Energy.

This role will collaborate with leaders and various functions, including product management, to develop new segment strategies, refine specific BU strategies and identify new growth markets for the business. He/she will be responsible for delivering short term net revenue & profit as well as securing new business opportunities for future growth. This will be achieved by ensuring cross-selling in the segments, identifying needs for new product development or acquisitions for growing content within the segments, establish pricing guidelines, and helping identify opportunities for solutions selling within each segment.

In addition, he/she will regularly interface with business development and Corporate M&A and Strategy team to develop and execute a healthy M&A pipeline including target outreach. This role will also be responsible for supporting the Strategic Planning process including developing strategic frameworks and models. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Industrial.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver financial results

  • Own and drive strategic initiatives through concept, management alignment, and execution.

  • Present segment strategy and market opportunities regularly to management as well as reporting updates on results against business objectives

  • Collaborate with peers across the globe on market research and analysis

  • Partner with sales, engineering and product management to establish and execute product roadmaps aligned with customer sourcing roadmaps

  • Understand competitors ‘strengths and areas for opportunity

  • Identify inorganic growth opportunities for Sensata that align with strategic initiatives

  • Lead, mentor and coach the segment marketing team in order achieve results. Ensure the succession plans are solid and support individual development.

  • Ensure successful compliance with tools, reporting and resources to optimize efficiency.

Required Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics or Business is required. MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • At least 10 years’ experience in management and marketing role, with involvement working on growth strategy projects and conducting strategic due diligence on multiple cases is highly preferred

  • Proven leadership and team management experience

  • Capable of running highly complicated quantitative and financial analysis in a defect-free manner

  • Ability to dissect a problem in a structured approach and quickly form a hypothesis against which to run test analysis

  • Experience in engineering or operational role at an industrial company desired

  • 15% global travel required
