Sensata Technologies, Inc. Global Mobility Specialist in Attleboro, Massachusetts
The Global Mobility Specialist partners with all levels of the company to help execute and advise on short & long-term international and domestic assignments, cross-border commuters, domestic and international relocations and frequent business travelers. The Global Mobility Specialist will also be a subject matter expert on US immigration and assist with facilitating employment authorization globally in collaboration with Sensata’s preferred immigration provider. A key objective of the global mobility program is to mitigate risk through compliance with tax and immigration authorities in the countries where Sensata operates while offering a premium people experience to employees.
Implements and executes mobility programs and services supporting employee short- and long-term transfers, assignments, country entry and domestic or international relocation
Advises managers on mobility policies and practices
Gathers and completes required information and applications for processing
Facilitates immigration status applications and employment authorization for employees and candidates
Serves as partner and point of contact with counsel, government agencies and third-party vendors providing immigration, relocation and mobility support
Assists in communicating relocation packages
Answers questions and resolves escalated issues from employees
Stays current with laws, regulations and procedures governing international mobility and immigration
Responsible for ensuring tax compliance
Coordinate between HR contacts at domestic and global sites
Assist in the management of a third-party vendor that support employees and their families in leveraging relocation and assignment benefits
Strong understanding of domestic and international relocation practices and industry standards
Preparing employment verification letters for employees
Tracking and maintaining foreign student tax exemption list for payroll
Partnering with our Immigration law firm to prepare, file and track H1B filings
Partnering with our Immigration law firm to prepare, file and track PERM labor certification cases
Creating and maintaining public access files
Working with our immigration law firm to enhance global immigration reporting capabilities
Working with Talent Acquisition in hiring processes that involve sponsorship
Reviewing and responding to incoming requests from foreign nationals with help from our Immigration law firm
Providing relocation case management support on an as-needed basis
Assisting on special projects as needed
Creating program reporting and analytics to capture program activity and impact
Experience / Qualifications
A universitydegree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
