Sensata Technologies, Inc. Engineering Technician in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Design Engineering Technician is responsible for planning, execution, and documentation of formal validation tests associated with new design and product development. A successful candidate will be able to review action lists provided by design engineering teams, prioritize and execute the associated tasks, and document the process and results thoroughly. In this specific role, the candidate will be working with the Automotive Thermal Management Engineering team to both execute product validations and support other actions revolving around new product development.



  • Work in a lab environment with multiple engineers on the design, manufacturing and validation of new and existing automotive sensors and other electromechanical devices.

  • Review, plan, execute, analyze and document mechanical and electrical engineering validations

  • Interpret data and provide suggestions based on an acceptance criteria or project goal.

  • Measure, assemble, disassemble, and analyze device components using appropriate tools and/or designated equipment.

  • Independently manage time and prioritize tasks to complete multiple actions from various projects simultaneously.

Job and Skill Requirements:

  • A.S. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

  • 6+ years of technical experience

  • Ability to work in a team of cross-functional members in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to read and follow test specifications, standards, and procedures.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical test equipment and components.

  • Ability to solder PCB/SMT components

  • Working knowledge of simple hand tools (drills, wrenches, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical test equipment (calipers, micrometers, force gauges, etc)

  • Working knowledge of basic electrical test equipment (multimeter, power supplies, data loggers, etc)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)

  • Fluent in English with effective communication skills to discuss complex technical topics with engineers and other technicians

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with pressure cycling, thermal ovens, and other lab equipment.

  • Experience with Labview, Minitab, Matlab, PLM, Solidworks preferred.

  • Experience with basic machining operations (drilling, milling, turning, etc)
