Sensata Technologies, Inc. Engineering Technician (Aerospace) in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Mechanical Technician supports the design and development of electro-mechanical sensor products which are utilized in a variety of applications (Automotive, Industrial, Heavy vehicles, and Aerospace etc.) As a technician, you will work alongside design engineers developing products and resolving engineering challenges. The role requires hands-on, creative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build prototypes for various products

  • Develop and fabricate mechanical and electro-mechanical fixtures, jigs, and test set-ups used to interface products with data acquisition equipment

  • Perform engineering tests including data acquisition, analysis, and documentation

  • Perform failure and root cause analysis

  • Perform measurement studies on parts and assemblies

  • Complete test reports

  • Generate and maintain testing and lab procedures

  • Identify and perform preventative maintenance on equipment

  • Contribute to lab continuous improvement in the areas of safety and test integrity

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred or applicable technical expertise. Military Veterans encouraged to apply

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to work both collaboratively with teams and independently to complete tasks on-time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working in a product development environment

  • Proven mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and test specifications

  • Experience with machining (drills, presses, lathes, etc.)

  • Experience with measurement and inspection equipment

  • Ability to analyze data to make data-driven observations and recommendations

  • Knowledge of electrical testing, soldering, wiring, oscilloscopes, controllers, data acquisition, and electrical circuitry

  • Experience writing programs to automate data acquisition using software such as LabView, Visual Basic or similar

  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
