Sensata Technologies, Inc. Electro-Mechanical Technician in Attleboro, Massachusetts

In this position you will provide testing services and technical support for the Electronic Module Assembly Design Group. You will be asked perform environmental and reliability tests for various new and revised electronic module assemblies. Testing may require both mechanical (as in destructive testing) and electrical (electrical characterization) skills. In some cases fixtures and jigs may need to be built to perform tests. Effectively problem solve and debug testing and equipment issues. Additionally, acquire, analyze, and document data. Provide completed test reports. Create and update procedures. Knowledge of industry accepted specifications like IPC 610 and IPC 600 as familiarity with Mil Std 883 would be a big plus. Knowledge of soldering, SMT, die attach and wirebonding is also a plus.


Job Details:

  • Provide testing and technical support to the EMA design group. Setup and run environmental tests per internal and external specifications, including:

  • Humidity

  • Thermal shock

  • High temp endurance

  • Component shear testing

  • Cross section (working with TSL technicians)

  • Perform tests as defined by us or our customer or per std industry test method

  • When testing requires, build test fixture. This can be for mechanical or electrical testing

  • Effectively problem solve and debug testing and equipment issues

  • Acquire, analyze, and document data

  • Complete test reports

  • Write and update test procedures


Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred or applicable technical expertise (Military Veterans encouraged to apply)

  • Ability to solder and knowledge of soldering processes as it relates to electronics

  • Understanding of electronic assembly methods

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Ability to interpret drawings and test specifications

  • Ability to multitask

  • Must pay attention to detail

  • Knowledge of oscilloscopes, controllers, data acquisition, and electrical circuitry

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, managers, and peers to achieve business and organizational goals

This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR.
