Sensata Technologies, Inc. Electrical Design Engineer in Attleboro, Massachusetts
As an Electrical Design Engineer (EE) at Sensata you will be part of a project team working on Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems and strain-gauge based pressure sensors. You will be expected to have the skills, knowledge and drive to create new and novel solutions to the challenges we face daily. For some projects and tasks, you’ll be challenged as an individual technical contributor, while others will provide frequent opportunities for collaboration among cross functional team environments as we work together to solve problems. Your responsibilities will include developing new software and firmware for prototype production processes and Sensata products.
Write, validate, and maintain software for prototype production processes and automated testing.
Write, validate, and maintain firmware for microcontroller-based products.
Specify calibration processes and database structures for high volume automotive production.
Development and evaluation of signal processing algorithms to extend the state of the art performance in pressure sensors.
Benchmarking processes and identify elements that limit performance or efficiency.
Presentation of new ideas, including justification of the design approaches and objective assessment of feedback.
Support high-volume production implementation as member of cross-functional team.
Interface with customers regarding digital protocols.
Apply statistical methods to data analysis.
Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Science with 3 years’ experience in software development. A Master’s degree would be a plus.
Experience with creative design of software and firmware with C, C++, and C#.
Ability to validate software and firmware.
Strong analytical background and knowledge of statistical techniques is required.
Knowledge of digital signal processing and ability to implement complex microcontroller code.
Strong technical communication skills for customer, vendor, and internal dialog.
Occasional international travel may be required.
Background in automotive bus protocols such as SENT and LIN is a plus.
