Sensata Technologies, Inc. Director, Global Environment, Health, Safety, and Security in Attleboro, Massachusetts
Sensata Technologies is seeking an experienced Global Environment, Healthy, Safety, and Security Director (EHS&S) accountable for all environmental, health, safety (EHS) and security program execution and compliance globally. This position will provide leadership and expertise in the administration and support of regulatory compliance, program development, training, and continuous improvement with emphasis on developing and driving programs that continuously improve employee safety to world class standards.
Environmental, Health, & Safety Responsibilities
Develop new and innovative programs to motivate the workforce to participate and engage in EHS
Ensure EHS and Security strategies/programs are implemented at a global level
Full understanding of the business strategies in order to conceptualize, recommend and implement EHS business processes that ensure alignment with the corporate strategy
Address new developments in the health and safety regulatory environment and industry best practices globally
Engage and interact with government officials globally, representing Sensata’s interests
Implement region wide strategies from EHS expert leads to implement, educate and enforce EHS policies, rules and regulations, and to stay in compliance with local and corporate standards
Ensure full and complete EHS management is implemented by appointing appropriately qualified, skilled and experienced EHS professionals, and supporting and empowering their work to meet all the criteria of those positions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Sensata related requirements
Provide a central point of reference for other team leaders/managers/directors on site for EHS matters, referring and consulting the appropriate subject matter expert(s) when required to ensure the highest standards of service and support locally
Conduct safety and incident reviews with Site-Led EHS teams to address recent incidents, root causes, corrective actions and mechanisms for cross-sharing learning experiences
Develop new and update Corporate EHS Standards for topics relevant to Sensata operations
Conduct EHS audits to help close critical gaps in performance to standards.
Develop strategies and programs to create awareness of safety concerns, hazards, and conditions and methods for practicing safe work activities
Provide mentoring and safety knowledge development for site-led EHS personnel.
Physical and Systems Security Responsibilities
Manage, maintain and support security systems and physical security globally, including Incident Management and reporting
Collaborate with Global Security team to support investigations
Program design for all Physical Security protections globally (validate, test and support the implementation and maintenance of all design specifications and standards)
Establish and implement effective, predictable and measurable procedures/processes for all managed security systems
Oversee the research, development, design and testing of a variety of equipment, components, products and systems with the goal of fully optimizing and leveraging Sensata’s security strategies and goals
Implement region wide strategies from security expert leads to implement, educate and enforce Security policies, rules and regulations, and to stay in compliance with local and corporate standards
Provide a central point of reference for other team leaders/managers/directors on site for Security matters, referring and consulting the appropriate subject matter expert(s) when required to ensure the highest standards of service and support locally
Conduct Security audits to help close critical gaps in performance to standards.
Create clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes and timelines that support Sensata’s Priorities
Manage capital programs from inception to completion, including major developments up to and including new buildings and building refurbishments. This may include commercial, legal and technical elements, coordinating internally, across the organization and with external stakeholders to make the project a success
Lead and/or participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions
Lead a team of dedicated EHS and Security professionals with responsibility for talent development and mentoring related to technical expertise and leadership capability
Provide leadership and direction for emergency response planning, and business continuity and recovery plans.
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
10+ years of experience leading a Global EHS & Security Organization in a diverse, fast-paced environment
Safety Certification or licensing in an internallyly0recognized Standard/Program
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Change-agent who has proven skills in serving multiple stakeholders
Strong skills in managing to targets, leading teams, and executing to plan
Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy
Ability to assess, view and develop a clear vision and strategy
Experience leading sites globally
Exercises sound judgement at both gl9obal and local levels
Willing to tackle tough issues with tact and diplomacy in a timely fashion
