Within Sensata, the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis group focuses on the Company’s worldwide planning processes, including the development of the annual plan, periodic forecasts and the long range plans. The group works closely with several other finance functions including Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Global Business Unit Finance teams as well as the International Finance groups.
We are currently seeking a Cost and Financial Planning Analyst who will be a liaison between the corporate finance groups and business units and will perform company-wide financial analysis to evaluate financial performance and support decision making. Primary responsibilities include performing fluctuation analysis, reconciliations, forecasting and compiling senior management presentations. The Financial Analyst will participate in certain monthly close duties and the annual and long range planning process. The ideal candidate also has the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines. The candidate should be personable and be able to influence others. This is an excellent opportunity to provide critical deliverables reviewed by senior management. This position will report directly to the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis.
Detailed Posting Description
Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control.
Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Financial planning and analysis of functional business units
Review and analyze monthly financial results
Deep dive into financial results to reconcile variances and develop qualitative explanations and identify potential risks and/or opportunities in the company plan
Interact with financial and business management to help generate and corroborate annual and long range forecasts
Assist in the preparation of monthly senior management presentations
Ability to learn and use IT systems and company processes quickly
Compliance with Company policies, generally accepted accounting principles and legal requirements
Actively contribute to managing account structures in Hyperion
Ability to create efficient reporting from Hyperion.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or economics
0 2 years of relevant financial analysis experience
Strong knowledge of MS-Office, in particular above average Excel and PowerPoint skills
Oracle and Hyperion/Essbase experience is preferred, but not required.
Experience using multi-dimensional databases required experience with Hyperion a plus
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Flexible “can do” mentality
Demonstrated problem solving ability, with a “think outside of the box” approach
Capable of working independently and in teams
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written; experience with interacting with all levels of management
Desire to learn and advance in a fast-paced organization
Less than 5% travel required.
